MONTGOMERY (AL) ALUMNI CHAPTER
Polemarch's Message
Welcome to the Kappa Kommunity of Achievement

It is my pleasure and honor to serve as the Polemarch for the Montgomery Alumni Chapter. The Crimson and Crème Spirit is evidenced by Kappa’s role in the leadership of the Montgomery Community and the River Region toward achievement in every field of human endeavor.

Kappa Alpha Psi, a college fraternity, functions through undergraduate chapters on major campuses, and alumni chapters in cities throughout the world, continues the crystallization of a dream. It is the beautiful realization of the vision shared commonly by the late Revered Founders Elder Watson Diggs; John Milton Lee; Byron K. Armstrong; Guy Levis Grant; Ezra D. Alexander; Henry T. Asher; Marcus P. Blakemore; Paul W. Caine; Edward G. Irvin and George W. Edmonds. The vision of these astute men enabled them in the school year 1910 - 11, more specifically the night of January 5, 1911, on the campus of Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana, to sow the seed of a fraternal tree whose fruit is available to, and now enjoyed by, college men everywhere, even all educated men who would enter the alumni of Kappa Alpha Psi internationally, regardless of their color, religion or national origin. The Montgomery Alumni Chapter began in 1949, celebrated under leaders such as the Late Brother Ralph D. Abernathy, our revered Laurel Wreath Holder, the Late Dr. Ralph J. Bryson, and moves steadily toward its vision of promise, productivity and influence today with Achievement.

Today, the Montgomery Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi touches many elements of the Kommunity. The Chapter brings a robust element of funding to programs, a deliberate nurturing for the Brothers in Montgomery and surrounding areas and ensures that the global image and impact of the chapter is enhanced through its facilities, programs and activities. We purposely follow the leadership of the 35th Administration Grand Polemarch, Jimmy McMikle and the Southern Province Polemarch, Jason Jones Esq. under the tenet Brother to Brother, "Breaking Barriers Building Bridges” to focus on: Integrity, Respect, Transparency, Information Sharing, Benefits, Dialogue, Courage and Candor, and Protect Intake Candidates, Brothers, and the Fraternity. The Vision for the Montgomery Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi is the following tenets congruent with linkages to the provincial and national leadership by enhancing funding, developing brotherhood and supporting the community using our facilities.

Brothers continue in a spirit of k-cooperation and k-corroboration to the team of k-collaboration and Kappa vision. Moving through this year forward together, let’s nourish the Bond of Achievement that Konnects us. Every Brother is requested and required to be a part of Team Kappa in order to Karry our intent for the betterment of Kappa Alpha Psi for the Montgomery Alumni Chapter.

I appreciate and I am gratefully honored to continue achieving for Kappa.

May you be blessed,

DeAndre Meadows Sr.
